What does temporary earnings mean?
Any income from self-employment or employment that you earn during unemployment is called temporary earnings.
Compensation
Temporary earnings must be compensated in accordance with local and company practice. In particular, the provisions of a collective labor agreement (CLA) or standard employment contract must be complied with.
If this income alone would be unreasonably low, the difference up to the reasonable wage is compensated by the RAV.
Benefits of temporary employment
Temporary earnings are also useful:
- You improve your income. The temporary earnings and the ALV (Unemployment insurance) compensation payment together are always higher than the unemployment benefit.
- You acquire new contribution periods for a new framework period, unless it is self-employed temporary earnings or temporary earnings in the context of temporary employment financed by the ALV.
- You gain further professional experience and can make interesting contacts.
